I got Shelley's haircut and colored, but I forgot to take a picture!
We were both worn to a frazzle
when the stylist finished with her hair, and after getting her settled, I only
wanted to go home. It was a three-hour process!
The product that the stylist
uses to color Shelley's hair wasn't available in any location. She resorted to
one that took 45 minutes to work. Then the cut and drying came. Whew!
While the goop is on Shelley's
head, she wants to wander. So we walked. And walked. She can't get into a
chair without help, so when she sat or got up, I had to help her. She is a
small person, but my muscles aren't accustomed to weight bearing loads.
I had knee surgery two months
ago, and by the time the lady finished with hair, I could barely walk. I
stumbled out the door and managed to get home.
Shelley's new grandbaby is
coming December 6, 2022, and I want Shelley to look nice. We haven't met
the newest addition to the family, so we are excited.
Here she is with Lovely, her favorite Aide
The aides comb it into a pony
tail, and that helps. If her hair isn't pulled back at meal time, the aides stop
feeding her too soon. I have a zillion clamps, clips, and scrunchies to hold
the hair, but they don't do the job left in the bathroom. Shelley
has dropped weight again. She's down to 90 pounds.
Other residents live in this
memory care facility, so I understand the aides have several patients to take
care of, and most do the best they can with Shelley.
When I go, I take candies and
cookies, or her favorite ice cream. Year before last, when she was
more lucid, she asked me, "Are you trying to make me fat?" As a matter of fact, I was! I got her up to 108.
These days, she answers
questions with appropriate answers, but she can't initiate a conversation.
I'm going today and take
pictures.
Stay tuned. I hope you'll follow this blog. If you do, when I post, you'll receive a notice.
Blessings for today!
